Weekly Devlog #3: Foundations for Voice and Memory
This week, we took a massive step toward our goal of building a world-class growth partnering platform. We moved past the "MVP" phase and started hardening the foundations for what will be the most advanced coaching engine on the market.
Technical Milestones
1. Engine v3: Structured Coaching Most AI "coaches" are just wrappers around a chat model. This week, we shipped **Engine v3**, which introduces a **Framework Selector**. TECA now classifies your intent in real-time and selects the optimal coaching framework (GROW, OSKAR, or CLEAR) to guide the session.
We also implemented **Structured Turn Envelopes**. Every time the coach speaks, it's not just text; it's a structured packet containing a *reflection*, a *powerful question*, and an *action item suggestion*. This ensures the AI follows coaching discipline, not just conversational flow.
2. Memory v2: Semantic Recall We migrated our memory system to **pgvector**. Instead of just looking at the last few messages, TECA now performs semantic searches across your entire leadership history. It connects today's roadmap friction with the goal you set three months ago. This is the "Longitudinal Memory" that makes TECA unique.
3. Voice v1: The Sound of Coaching We laid the foundational layer for **Voice Agent** capabilities. We've implemented provider abstractions for STT (Deepgram) and TTS (ElevenLabs) and defined the `voice_sessions` schema. Real-time voice coaching is no longer a "roadmap item"—it's in the works.
What We Learned: The Infrastructure Tax
One of our biggest takeaways this week was the importance of **Environment Setup**. We spent significant time aligning Hostinger, Vercel, Supabase, and Paperclip.
**The Lesson:** "World-class" isn't just about the model; it's about the plumbing. We caught three critical database regressions by running our new **Eval Framework v2** against our dev environment. If we hadn't invested in that infrastructure early, those regressions would have reached users.
